Saddam to be executed?

An article from the Iraqi government funded newspaper Sabah reports that they expect the first death penalty to be handed to Saddam in the coming weeks after the special court convicts him on 12 charges of crimes against humanity.

Fingers crossed!

Civilian death toll

Report by the UK-based group Iraq Body Count (IBC)
Out of 24,865 civilian fatalities 9% are attributed to insurgents, which is approx 2238.
Out of that 2238 almost 20% have been women and children, which is approx 447.

The vast majority of civilians killed by allied forces occured during the initial invasion of Iraq.
Subsequently by far the most civilian casualities since the invasion are attributed to the insurgency.

Deaths caused per month by US-led forces and others

Iraqi's don't seem to care that their freedom fighters have such a profound disregard for human life.

A quote from the Quran

"If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (for ever): And the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful penalty is prepared for him." [An-Nisa': 93]
